Ministerial statement by Jeffrey Siow on support for Singaporeans amid Iran war | Full speech
The government will supplement what was announced in Budget 2026 with a further package of support measures for businesses and Singapore households to cope with rising costs amid the ongoing Middle East conflict and Iran war, announced Senior Minister of State for Finance Jeffrey Siow.
In his ministerial statement on Tuesday (Apr 7), Mr Siow announced that the government will bring forward the disbursement of the S$500 CDC Vouchers announced in Budget this year from January 2027 to June 2026, and increase the Budget 2026 Cost-of-Living Special Payment by S$200 for all eligible Singaporeans.
In addition, platform workers and taxi drivers will receive a cash relief of S$200 to help cushion the impact of fuel prices.
Businesses will also be supported through an increase in rebate for Corporate Income Tax and other enhancements.
