Lebanon Lashes Out At Netanyahu Over Strikes Despite Ceasefire; ‘Attacks Getting More Brutal…’
Lebanon’s representative addressed the UN Security Council, reaffirming the government’s commitment to extend full state authority across its territory and ensure the sovereignty of Lebanon through the deployment of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF). He expressed Beirut’s readiness to cooperate closely with UNIFIL during its orderly withdrawal while emphasizing the need for a new international stabilization mechanism in southern Lebanon. The envoy strongly denounced ongoing Israeli strikes on civilians, infrastructure, and UNIFIL personnel, calling them violations of international law and the ceasefire agreement of November 2024.
