For a young athlete, representing your country at the CARIFTA Games isn’t always straightforward.

This was the case for 17-year-old Kristiano Perez, who’s representing Trinidad and Tobago in the Boys’ Under-20 long jump and triple jump at this year’s Games in Grenada.

TTT Sport caught up with the Queen’s Royal College athlete, who admitted to having been overwhelmed in his CARIFTA debut last year, finishing sixth in the triple jump final, but is aiming for gold in his second appearance.
