But with the killing of the cartel leader known as ‘El Mencho,’ the Mexican government ‘likely bought themselves a bit of time’ from Washington as the Trump administration threatens unilateral intervention in Mexico, says Elijah Glantz, a research fellow for the organized crime and policing team at the Royal United Services Institute in London.
