We are no longer whispering from the shadows, we are no longer asking for a seat at a fire built by others, we have come to light our own fire.” Agnes Nguna, managing director of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, delivered this powerful call for narrative equality at the Global South Media Partners Mechanism Inauguration Meeting and the 13th Global Video Media Forum (VMF), held on November 6 in Xi’an City, northwest China’s Shaanxi Province.
