Japan blasted for failing to specify on past commitments
#FMsays Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian has clarified that Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on Wednesday at #Japan’s upper house only said that Japan’s position over the #Taiwan question is as stated in the China-Japan Joint Statement from 1972 and “has not changed”. Lin said the recently elected prime minister did not specify on the statement’s details as reported by some media, and Tokyo should explain to the world why it has deliberately shied away from specifying on its past commitments and legal obligations.
