In 1997, Iris Chang wrote The Rape of Nanking: The Forgotten Holocaust of World War II, leaving a precious historical record for future generations. Iris was only 36 when she passed away, but her words remain eternal. As her mother, Ying-Ying Chang, noted, “Words are the only way to preserve the essence of the soul. Everything about her, her passion for history, her faith and her courage were preserved through words.”
