इस्लामाबाद में बातचीत शुरू होने से पहले होर्मुज को लेकर अमेरिका और ईरान के बीच एकबार फिर से तनातनी पैदा हो गई है। ईरान द्वारा होर्मुज स्ट्रेट में तेल की आवाजाही रोकने पर ट्रंप बेहद गुस्से में आ गये हैं और उन्होंने इसे घोर अपमानजनक करार दिया है…ट्रंप ने ईरान पर वादाखिलाफी का आरोप लगाते हुए कहा है कि वो यह वह समझौता नहीं है जो हमारे पास है!…ट्रंप ने कहा है कि ईरान होर्मुज स्ट्रेट में तेल की आवाजाही रोक कर घटिया काम कर रहा है,…कुछ लोग इसे अपमानजनक कहेंगे…यह हमारे समझौते के अनुरूप नहीं है…दरअसल अमेरिका से डायरेक्ट बातचीत से पहले, ईरान ने स्ट्रेट ऑफ़ होर्मुज़ को एक बार फिर से lock कर दिया है… पिछले 24 घंटों के दौरान, होर्मुज़ से ईरान ने अपने जहाज़ों को छोड़कर केवल जहाज़ों को इजाज़त दी है…होर्मुज़ से पिछले 24 घंटे में सिर्फ़ छह ऑयल टैंकर pass हुए हैं… और इन सबमें ईरानी ऑयल था… होर्मुज़ से passage को लेकर IRGC की तरफ़ से एक नक़्शा भी जारी किया गया है… जिसमें जहाज़ों से कहा गया है कि वो ईरान के islands के पास से जाएं… होर्मुज़ के original रूट से बचें… क्योंकि वहां marine mines बिछी हुई हैं…ईरान ने साफ कर दिया है कि सीज़फ़ायर की शर्त के तहत वो, हर दिन होर्मुज़ से सिर्फ़ 15 ships को ही passage देगा…और टोल भी वसूलेगा….

Tensions have once again flared between the United States and Iran over the Strait of Hormuz, just prior to the commencement of talks in Islamabad. President Trump has reacted with extreme anger to Iran’s move to block oil traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, labeling it “grossly insulting.” Accusing Iran of reneging on its commitments, Trump asserted, “This is not the agreement we have!” Trump further stated that by obstructing the movement of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, Iran is engaging in “despicable behavior”—actions that, as he noted, “some would deem insulting” and which are “not in accordance with our agreement.” In fact, ahead of direct negotiations with the U.S., Iran has once again effectively “locked down” the Strait of Hormuz. Over the past 24 hours, Iran has permitted passage through Hormuz only to its own vessels, barring all others. Consequently, only six oil tankers have passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the last 24 hours—all of which were carrying Iranian oil. The IRGC has also released a navigational chart regarding passage through Hormuz, instructing vessels to sail in close proximity to Iranian islands and to avoid the Strait’s original shipping lanes, citing the presence of planted marine mines in those areas. Iran has made it explicitly clear that, under the terms of the ceasefire agreement, it will grant passage to a maximum of only 15 ships per day through the Strait of Hormuz—and will also levy a toll for such passage.
