These protests are primarily led by the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (AAC). The protesters demand the abolition of the 12 seats reserved for Kashmiri refugees living in Pakistan in the PoK Assembly, as protesters believe these seats undermine local representation and are being used by the Pakistani government to destabilize the Assembly.
