बिहार में आगामी 6 और 11 नवंबर को विधानसभा चुनाव होने है। इस चुनाव में प्रशांत किशोर की पार्टी जनसुराज भी भाग ले रही है। हालांकि, चुनाव से ठीक पहले पार्टी के संस्थापक प्रशांत किशोर ने चुनाव न लड़ने का फैसला किया है। शुक्रवार को प्रशांत किशोर ने इंडिया टीवी के चुनाव मंच कार्यक्रम में भाग लिया और इस मुद्दे पर विस्तार से बात की है।

प्रशांत किशोर क्यों नहीं लड़ रहे चुनाव?
चुनाव मंच में जनसुराज के संस्थापक प्रशांत किशोर ने कहा- “चुनाव न लड़ने के पीछे समय की मर्यादा है। पहली बार दशकों में एक पार्टी स्क्रैच शुरुआत कर के 243 सीटों पर चुनाव लड़ रही है। इसमें सैकड़ों लोग लगे हुए हैं। मेरे चुनाव लड़ने न लड़ने पर पार्टी में व्यापक चर्चा हुई। कुल मिलाकर हम लोगों के पास 18 दिन प्रचार के लिए बचे हैं। अगर मैं चुनाव लड़ता तो हमें कम से कम 3 से 4 दिन वहां देना होता। 4 दिन मैं अन्य 30 से 40 विधानसभा क्षेत्रों में नहीं जा पता। ऐसे में पार्टी के वरीय साथियों ने फैसला लिया कि पहले प्राथमिकता ये है कि हर विधानसभा में जहां पहुंचा जा सकता है वहां पहुंचा जाए। इसलिए मैंने चुनाव न लड़ने का फैसला किया।”

Why is Prashant Kishore not contesting the elections?
In the election forum, Jansuraj founder Prashant Kishor said – “The reason behind not contesting the elections is the time constraints. For the first time in decades, a party is contesting elections on 243 seats from scratch. Hundreds of people are involved in this. There was a wide discussion in the party on whether I should contest the elections or not. Overall, we have 18 days left for campaigning. If I had contested the elections, we would have had to give at least 3 to 4 days there. I would not be able to go to the other 30 to 40 assembly constituencies in 4 days. In such a situation, senior party colleagues decided that the first priority is to reach wherever possible in every assembly. Hence, I decided not to contest the elections.”
