असम के अशांत कार्बी आंगलोंग जिले में एक बार फिर हिंसा भड़क ही…मंगलवार को हुई हिसा में दो लोगों की मौत हो गई…जबकि कई अन्य घायल हुए हैं…तनावपूर्ण हालात को देखते हुए कार्बी आंगलोंग और पश्चिम कार्बी आंगलोंग जिलों में इंटरनेट सेवा बंद कर दी गई है…हिंसक प्रदर्शनकारियों को तितर-बितर करने के लिए पुलिस को लाठीचार्ज करना पड़ा…पुलिस ने आंसू गैस के गोले भी दागे…पुलिस के मुताबिक ‘बंद’ के आदेश के बावजूद खेरोनी बाजार में बड़ी संख्या में लोग जमा हो गए…कई दुकानें में आग लगा दी गई…आदिवासी इलाके से अतिक्रमणकारियों को बेदखल करने की मांग को लेकर आंदोलकारी खेरोनी बाजार में इकट्ठे हुए थे…असम के सीएम हिमंता बिस्वा सरमा ने कहा कि वो हालात पर नजर बनाएं हुए हैं…सीएम ने कहा कि हालात सामान्य करने के लिए बातचीत का सहारा लिया जा रहा है…

Violence erupted once again in Assam’s restive Karbi Anglong district on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuries to several others. In view of the tense situation, internet services have been suspended in Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong districts. Police had to resort to lathi-charge and fire tear gas to disperse the violent protesters. According to the police, a large number of people gathered at Kheroni market despite the “bandh” (strike) order. Several shops were set on fire. The protesters had gathered at Kheroni market demanding the eviction of encroachers from tribal areas. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said he is monitoring the situation and that efforts are being made to restore normalcy through dialogue.
