India-US Trade Deal: Textile Exporters Hope For Revival After Tariff Cut #NDTV

Exports from Tamil Nadu’s Tiruppur to the US had taken a severe hit after President Trump had imposed a 50 per cent tariff on Indian goods in August 2025.

Tiruppur now exports knitwear worth 45,000 crore rupees annually, and about 40 per cent of it is shipped to the United States.

Some exporters say that following the tariff cut, the knitwear industry has set a target of increasing exports to around 40 billion US dollars.
