Every creator knows this feeling: Something is missing, but you cannot quite put your finger on it.
For Yaran, it started with a stubborn sketch. The pony she was drawing refused to stay on the page and decided to take over.
What followed was a time-hopping search for inspiration – from museum horses and Tang Dynasty art to a viral “crying horse” plushie born from a sewing mistake in Yiwu, the city known as “the world’s supermarket.”
Along the way, winged horses carried Silk Road stories, ancient manes shaped beauty ideals, and one small mistake proved that imperfection can steal the spotlight. Wonder how ancient art, pop culture and happy accidents have come together to create something new? Meet Yaran and her beloved pony, Miracle.
