Hundreds of Hikers Rescued from Blizzard on Mount Everest | Heavy Snowfall | #shorts
Nearly 900 hikers and local guides who had been stranded on the eastern slopes of Mount Everest since October 4 have been brought to safety. In all, 580 hikers and more than 300 guides, yak herders, and other workers were stranded. About 350 hikers were able to descend by noon on October 6, and the rest had arrived by October 7. The blizzard was triggered by torrential rains to the south of Tibet, where landslides and flash floods blocked roads and left at least 40 people dead.
