How a Chinese New Year Jiama is made
A carve, a print and a reveal.

Jiama is a traditional woodblock folk print in which blessing images are carved into wooden boards, inked, and hand-pressed onto paper.

On the weathered blocks, the texture of time emerges with every layer of ink.

When ink meets paper, what moves at the fingertips is not only craft but also reverence for the world.

As the New Year approaches, we carve this “Spirit Horse of Blessings,” carrying hopes forward – toward spring.
