Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels have detained three United Nations staffers, accusing them of spying for Israel. The arrests include two women and one man working for the World Food Programme, taken from their homes in Sanaa. Houthi security sources claim to possess a list of “Israeli collaborators” embedded within international agencies. The move follows last week’s raid on a UN compound and the detention of seven other staffers. The UN has strongly denied all allegations, calling them baseless. Since 2021, at least 55 UN personnel have been detained by the Houthis amid escalating tensions linked to the Gaza conflict.
