India will be celebrating its 77th Republic Day on 26th January 2026. The constitution of India was adopted on 26th November 1949 and came into effect on 26th January 1950. It replaced the Government of India Act of 1935, thereby declaring the country as a Sovereign, Democratic, Republic. Since then, every year India’s Republic Day is celebrated on January 26.French President Emmanuel Macron, has been invited as a Chief Guest for the 77th Republic Day celebrations in the national capital.
