Hindustan Times MBS’ US Visit Spooks Iran? Saudi Crown Prince Gets Letter From Pezeshkian Ahead Of Trump Meeting

Iran appears uneasy ahead of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s high-stakes visit to the White House. Hours before MBS was due to arrive in Washington for talks with US President Donald Trump, Riyadh revealed that it had received a surprise letter from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

According to the Saudi state news agency SPA, the message was delivered by Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation chief to the Saudi Interior Minister, a move widely seen as part of the ongoing Saudi-Iran rapprochement launched in 2023 under China’s mediation. However, SPA did not clarify whether the letter was directly linked to MBS’s US trip.
