Iranian military spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaghari announced that an American F-18 fighter jet was shot down near Chabahar by Iran’s air defence systems. According to the statement, the interception was carried out by the naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps under an integrated air defence network.

However, US Central Command swiftly denied the claim, stating that no U.S. fighter jet had been shot down. The incident adds to a growing list of disputed battlefield narratives as tensions intensify between Iran, the United States, and Israel.
