A massive fire tore through a residential building at Wang Fuk Court in the northern Tai Po District of Hong Kong on Wednesday afternoon. Flames engulfed bamboo scaffolding around multiple blocks, sending thick grey smoke billowing into the sky. Emergency crews responded after the first alarm at 2:51 p.m.; by 3:34 p.m. the blaze had escalated to a No. 4 alarm, indicating major severity. Several residents are reported trapped inside, and at least one man has suffered serious burns as firefighters race to extinguish the fire and evacuate those inside.
