Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has begun a visit to Abu Dhabi, UAE, where he will meet President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to deepen trade and investment ties. During the meeting, Canada and the UAE signed a Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (FIPA) to provide stronger protections for cross-border investments.
