Guangxi-Tieshan Port: Deepening ASEAN cooperation, writing a new chapter in the Maritime Silk Road
Tieshan Port in Beihai, South China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, has doubled its cargo throughput since 2017, with 24 berths and a handling capacity of 69 million tons. Leveraging its strategic location near ASEAN, it hosts 19 foreign trade firms and recorded 24.5 billion yuan in imports and exports in 2024. With new 150,000-ton berths now operational, it is writing a new chapter in the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. Global Times reporters visited the port to see the changes firsthand. Watch here:
