“We stand in opposition to this genocide”: Protesters march in NYC against Netanyahu’s UN speech
Protesters marched through New York City streets in huge numbers on Friday to demand Benjamin Netanyahu “stop the genocide” in Gaza, as the Israeli leader addressed the United Nations.
Isreal has made its strongest declaration in years that there will be no Palestinian state as it pushes on with its war against Hamas following the Oct. 7 attack.
Israel’s military response has killed more than 65,000 people, according to local health officials, and left much of the territory in ruins.
Netanyahu addressed the UN General Assembly on Friday where he denounced Western states that have recognized Palestinian statehood.
Israel has become diplomatically isolated over its military siege of Gaza but has retained the support of the U.S., it’s most powerful ally.
