US food, alcohol “not coming on our shelves” if trade deal with Canada isn’t made: Ford
Speaking Wednesday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford vowed U.S. food products and alcohol are “not coming on our shelves” until a trade deal was made with Canada.
Regarding products expected to expire in the near future, Ford said “we still have a few months before anything expires, and we’ll take it from there.”
Canadian provinces and territories decided to pull U.S. alcohol products off their shelves in March in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs on Canada.
Ford said Ontario’s wine sales have gone up more than 67 per cent since Trump’s trade war began.
