Some Ontario grocers to end alcohol sales over empty collection requirement
A number of Ontario independent grocers are threatening to stop alcohol sales ahead of the Jan. 1 deadline that will require them to take back empty bottles and cans.
Grocers have cited concerns over food safety, finding space for the containers and staffing challenges that come with having to clean and organize empties for pick up.
