Ontario furniture manufacturer Holsag to relocate to US due to “fluctuating tariffs”
Another economic blow for Kawartha Lakes region as longtime furniture manufacturer Holsag in Lindsay, Ont., is closing its doors next year, citing “fluctuating tariffs” as one of the primary reasons.
Up to 130 jobs will be lost as Holsag shutters its facility next March. And according to parent company Mity Inc. – based in Orem, Utah – the Canadian will be consolidated with its U.S. facilities.
This comes amid days after U.S. President Donald Trump ended trade talks with Prime Minister Mark Carney.
