“It should never happen”: Mexican president files complaint after man groped her in public
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Wednesday that she filed a complaint against a man who groped and tried to kiss her as she greeted members of the public.
 
“If this happens to the president walking down the street, then what happens to other young women?” Sheinbaum said.
 
“It turns out this person later went on to harass other women right there, on that same street. So this person is now under arrest,” she said and added, “I’m not saying this as a president, but as a woman and in representation of Mexican women. It should never happen.”
 
The incident happened on Tuesday in the capital’s historic centre, as Sheinbaum was making the short walk from Mexico’s National Palace to the Ministry of Education.
