Israeli officials and residents reject UN Gaza genocide finding, Palestinians say it came too late
A United Nations commission of inquiry concluded Tuesday that Israel committed genocide in Gaza and that leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, incited the acts.
Displaced Palestinians said the finding came too late, while Israeli residents rejected the conclusion as false and offensive. Israel’s foreign ministry denounced the 72-page report as “Hamas propaganda” and “fake.”
The inquiry, the strongest UN finding to date, adds to pressure as Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.
