Halifax police officer opens fire at vehicle after nearly being run down, wrong suspects detained
Questions are being raised after a large-scale police response to an incident in Halifax on Wednesday night.
Halifax Regional Police say an officer fired their gun after nearly being run down by a car during a traffic stop.
Officers had spotted the car driving erratically on Main Avenue. They waved down the vehicle and it stopped, before suddenly accelerating towards one of the officers.
The vehicle managed to get away and the officer was not physically hurt.
As Skye Bryden-Blom reports, the wrong suspects were initially taken into custody.
