“Disgusting”: Thousands of anti-Trump protesters march in London against UK state visit
Thousands marched through London on Wednesday to protest U.S. President Donald Trump’s historic state visit to Britain, while west of the capital, he was welcomed with unprecedented pomp.
In London, however, the majority of the crowd opposed him, holding placards with anti-Trump slogans and Palestinian flags. Protesters gathered at Portland Place, near BBC headquarters, before walking to the British parliament.
Organized by the Stop Trump Coalition, the ‘Trump Not Welcome’ protest was supported by dozens of other groups, including Amnesty International, women’s associations such as Abortion Rights and pro-Palestine activists.
On the eve of his arrival, around 25 miles west of London, protesters projected images of Trump alongside late sex offender Epstein onto the castle walls. Four people were arrested.
