Carney calls floor-crossing ex-Conservative MP “exceptionally valuable”
Prime Minister Mark Carney offered a warm welcome to Conservative-turned-Liberal MP Chris d’Entremont during a press conference on Wednesday morning.
In a move that shocked his former Conservative caucus, d’Entremont crossed the Parliament floor after reading through Carney’s 2025 federal budget.
Carney called the Nova Scotia politician’s move “important,” calling him “exceptionally valuable” to the Liberal caucus.
On whether he has talked to other Conservative MPs about joining the Liberal Party, Carney emphasized the importance of a “unified” Parliament, adding that he “will talk to anyone” with Canada in their best interest.
