As anti-tariff ad simmers, Doug Ford shifts stance in US trade battle
As the dust over Ontario’s anti-tariff commercial begins to settle, there appears to be a shift in Premier Doug Ford’s stance. Shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump cut off trade talks with Canada, Prime Minister Mark Carney asserted federal jurisdiction.
At the same time, Ontario is not backing down on its decision to remove American alcohol from store shelves, the only retaliatory policy that has stuck so far.
