#GLOBALNEWS Amid Trump turmoil, Canada’s “reputation” going a long way with potential trading partners: Charest

Last year, Canada’s trade with the U.S. was worth $1.3 trillion, while trade with the Indo-Pacific — whose countries may up the AESAN economic association — was a fraction of that at just over $260 billion.

But Jean Charest, the honourary chair of the ASEAN Business Council, tells the West Block Canada has a “good reputation” among ASEAN countries. “Everyone, generally… is interested in dealing with Canada,” he says, adding ASEAN countries are “looking to diversify (trade).”
