Global Sumud Flotilla LIVE: Boats Sail toward Gaza Aid | Greta Thunberg Detained by Israeli Navy
The Global Sumud Flotilla, a coalition of over 40 vessels carrying approximately 500 activists—including Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg—set sail to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, challenging Israel’s maritime blockade. On October 1, 2025, Israeli naval forces intercepted the flotilla approximately 70 nautical miles from Gaza’s coast. The Israeli military detained the activists and redirected the vessels to the port of Ashdod.
