Global News”No place to push that snow”: GTA digging out from major winter storm

As southern Ontario works to recover from record-breaking snowfall, there are widespread closures and cancellations across the region on Monday.

Public and Catholic schools in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) have cancelled classes, and many private and post-secondary institutions have followed suit. A major snowstorm condition and significant weather event have been declared in Toronto.

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says, “Plows have been out, they continue to push snow, but in many cases there’s no place to push that snow.”

Drivers are being asked to take it slow after yesterday’s winter wall-up, as residents dig out from the near 50 cm of snowfall in some areas.
