Nick Reiner pleaded not guilty to the murder of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, during his third appearance in Los Angeles Superior Court for his scheduled arraignment Monday.

Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman spoke outside the courthouse, “We have provided the bulk of discovery to defence counsel and we are now waiting for the coroner’s report. When that is provided to the district attorney’s office, it will in turn be provided to defence counsel.”

“This case is a death penalty eligible case. Along those lines, we take the process in which we determine whether or not the death penalty should be sought extremely seriously.” Hochman added.

The preliminary hearing is set for April 29, where prosecutors will present evidence intended to show probable cause for proceeding to trial.
