Meat from the offspring of cloned animals could soon be on the way to Canadian supermarkets.

But food researchers say consumers may not even know they are buying it.

Health Canada will reportedly allow the meat to be sold without labels or a formal risk assessment.

Sylvain Charlebois, the director Agri-Food Analytics Lab at Dalhousie University told Global News “there’s a lot of unknowns here and I think a lot of Canadians are caught by surprise.”
