One thousand NHL games — a mark that only a fraction of professional hockey players ever achieve.

“It was something I’ll never forget,” says the former Maple Leaf as he was honoured during a Flames home game in early November with his family around him on the special night. “When you get to that stage, it’s a lot of appreciation, a lot of gratitude,” he adds.

Global’s Joel Senick spoke with the veteran forward about the special night and looks back on his NHL career that has spanned two Canadian stops along the way.
