Dozens of charges have been laid against a pair of suspects in connection with more than 300 thefts.

Halton Regional Police are calling the thefts “deeply disturbing,” with the pair targeting cemeteries and mausoleums.

“We also found out the accused had dumped the ashes of loved ones. A reprehensible, disrespectful and immoral act,” said Deputy Chief Roger Wilkie of the Halton Regional Police Service.
