Prime Minister Mark Carney delivered a speech to Canadians in Quebec City on Thursday where he rebuked comments made by U.S. President Donald Trump at the World Economic Forum earlier this week suggesting that “Canada lives because of the United States.” Carney said, “Canada doesn’t live because of the United States. Canada thrives because we are Canadian.”
