German table tennis chief seeks deeper collaboration with China
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz heads to China this week and he’s bringing a secret weapon: table tennis. Joining the trip as a delegation member, German table tennis chief Dr. Wolfgang Dörner calls Chinese table tennis “the market leader, the benchmark for everyone” and pitches joint youth camps, shared training systems and new cross-border media formats. “Table tennis is great for building bridges,” he tells CGTN.
