FRANCE 24 English Life in Iran after the crackdown: the account of a journalist as students resume protests

Iranian students defy the regime’s brutal clampdown on dissent by resuming protests in Tehran. The gatherings at several universities are being reported by both local media outlets and Iranian channels abroad, a month on from the regime’s savage suppression of an attempted uprising. The crackdown prompted President Trump to intervene, telling protesters then, that “help is coming”. He now says the US will decide on whether to strike Iran in the next 10 to 15 days – as Iran’s regime talks up the prospect of a diplomatic solution with Washington. Tara Kangarlou, renowned Iranian journalist and author of “The Heartbeat of Iran” joins France 24’s Gavin Lee to discuss life in Iran after the crackdown.
