Many families rely on expensive firewood to cook and stay warm during the cold winter months, while some 10 children have died from hypothermia since winter began. Despite the US administration’s promises to rebuild Gaza, the situation remains dire, with many still living in tents and damaged buildings, and aid efforts, including soup kitchens, working desperately to meet basic needs.
