Britain and Portugal are set to recognize the State of Palestine on Sunday, ahead of a key week at the UN General Assembly in New York, where around 10 countries may follow suit to pressure Israel over Gaza. UK media report that Prime Minister Keir Starmer will announce the move despite strong Israeli opposition.
