The people ‘want to end the Ouattara presidency’: Ivorian presidential candidate Don Mello
In an interview with FRANCE 24, Ivorian presidential candidate Ahoua Don Mello claimed that citizens “want to end the presidency of President Alassane Ouattara” in the upcoming October 25 election. Despite acknowledging that the vote lacks legitimacy due to the exclusion of major opposition figures like Laurent Gbagbo and Tidjane Thiam, Don Mello said he is running to “give an opportunity to change the system.” He also revealed that he is in discussions with former first lady Simone Ehivet Gbagbo and her ally Charles Blé Goudé to “set up the same strategy for this election.”
