Key oceans treaty crosses threshold to come into force • FRANCE 24 English
A landmark global accord to safeguard the oceans and restore marine life is set to become international law after Morocco on Friday became the 60th country to ratify the High Seas Treaty. Two decades in the making, the agreement will take effect in January and enables the creation of marine protected areas in international waters.
