FOX 5 Washington DC　　DMV Storm Update: Sleet takes over and cold to linger

Snowfall totals are stacking up across the region — but the bigger concern now is the transition from fluffy snow to a sleet mix. With temperatures stuck in the teens and strong wind gusts, conditions are deteriorating and there won’t be much melting in the days ahead. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect through early tomorrow morning, with sleet expected to continue through the afternoon and the possibility of freezing rain later today into tonight — a setup that could bring dangerous travel and potential power issues. Even after precipitation ends, the cold will linger with overnight lows dropping into the single digits for much of the week.
