During a House Oversight Committee hearing on Thursday, Rep. Lateefah Simon (D-CA) asked DC Attorney General Brian Schwalb bill introduced by Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), the D.C. Criminal Reforms to Immediately Make Everyone Safe Act of 2025, which would allow children as young as 14 years old to be tried as adults for some serious crimes in Washington DC.
