Falling water levels at Iraq’s Mosul Dam have revealed a 2,300-year-old cemetery from the Hellenistic period, according to officials. Archaeologists have so far uncovered 40 ceramic tombs at the site in Khanke village, on the outskirts of Duhok. The area was submerged when the Mosul Dam was constructed but has resurfaced after years of drought.
