Trump Attends ASEAN Summit, Meets Malaysian PM & Co-Signs Thailand-Cambodia Peace Deal | N18G
US President Donald Trump began his Asia tour in Malaysia. He attended the 47th ASEAN summit in Kuala Lumpur. He held bilateral talks with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, and the duo signed an agreement on reciprocal trade, including critical minerals. Trump also co-signed the Thailand-Cambodia ceasefire agreement with the Prime Ministers of both nations- Anutin Charnvirakul and Hun Manet. Trump hailed the “great peace deal” as a “monumental step” and congratulated both Premiers. Trump, earlier, met Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani aboard his Air Force One on his way to Malaysia. Trump will head to Japan and then to South Korea next. He will conclude his Asia tour after a meeting with China’s XI Jinping.
